It's that time of year when overindulging, once again becomes the buzz word on our lips!

Guilt has us promising ourselves (fingers crossed) we'll start afresh in January, with a fresh new weight loss and exercise program, something we can follow on an app or better still, to show real commitment, join the local gym or weight loss group. The problem is, we set unrealistic goals, I mean do you really want the bother of changing your clothes after work for a 45 min gym session on a cold, rainy winters night or deprive yourself of the warming, nourishing food that's going to protect you through the winter months? The chances are, if you didn't do all this prior to January, it's unrealistic to think your mindset is suddenly going to switch on the first of January!

If that all sounds defeatist, I promise it's not intended that way.

The good news is... you can do it, however, it begins with your mindset. Change the way you think and good things happen, because you are

looking at the bigger 'holistic' picture and getting a better understanding of what makes you tick. This has nothing to do with willpower. Willpower is simply striving for an outcome, an nd result and from my understanding that's why the failure rate is high, under willpower, alone.

The goal is to relearn self love, self respect and gratitude, then everything falls into place. Taking care of your body will become second nature.

Over the next month or so, I'll help guide you through a holistic wellbeing journey, stopping in to look at issues such as-

Why we have become so negative about ourselves and why we consume foods that are bad for us

We'll also look at lifestyle patterns and how we can change the negatives into positives.

Hope you join me on this journey and don't forget to leave me a comment.

Jean

We are whet we eat. No food is the enemy, that’s what I believe anyway. You’re right in what you say about setting small, achievable goals , much more likely to succeed and keep at it.

I must cut down on the cheese, my Achilles heel!
